This section started out as just being entirely photographs that were taken on January 18th, 1999 in
Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Those photos were all taken with conventional 35mm film using my Nikon N90.
They were then scanned and a color saturation filter was run over most of them to bring out the blue in
the sky which was lost in processing. Since my model these days is to put the newest pictures at the
top, you will find those Lake Havasu photos starting at the bottom of this page. The very last picture
was actually taken by me way back in 1987 or so when I was on a school field trip to Catalina island.
There were birds following the boat on the way to the island and I just happened to snap a very nice picture.
Who'd have known.
The newer photographs were taken on a vacation to Kure Beach, North Carolina with my parents. They were all
taken either with my Kodak DX3500 or my sister's high-end Olympus digital camera. The Kodak makes it easy
to just shoot a zillion pictures, but unfortunately it only has a fixed wide-angle lens. In general, you
need a good zoom lens to do wildlife photography, like what my Nikon had, but still I made the best of
it with my Kodak. It didn't hurt that some of the birds would fly right in just a few feet away from
where I was standing. The Olympus and it's powerful zoom really brought you in close though. I want one!
